Notes

This is my second artwork and second redux of 2021. The original version of this artwork came from 2019 and was done in Firefly and had a different title. This version was rendered fully in Superfly, postworked in a differently, and is better in just about every way; I think so at least.

I think I came up with the original idea for this one night when my mom was talking about playing her flute in high school. She’s fond of her band days. She even helped me with getting the pose of the woman holding the flute in this artwork to look right because before I showed it to her, I had it backwards and just completely wrong. So, thanks, Mom.
Technical Notes

This scene was something I originally created for Firefly, so I had to redo every material for Superfly in order to render it in Superfly. I deleted all the old IBL and specular lights, and all old really. For the new lighting I only used the “sun” spotlight shining through the window and a global IDL dome with an abstract-colored texture on it. In postwork I added the sunflare and used a couple Photoshop actions then balanced out the color a bit and enhanced the contrast. The background photo outside the window? Not added in postwork. That was on a flat plane prop and put outside the window and rendered with an ambient channel on it to project a slight bit more light into the room.
