Here we have Captain Jack Sparrow wondering why the rum is always gone. I created a render like this back in 2010 and have wanted to redo it better ever since. Today I finally got around to doing it better! Although it relatively easy to create the pose and expression, figuring out the best camera angle and lighting was the challenge. It was while I was adjusting his grip on the rum bottle that I realized the view from the “Right Hand Camera” looked really cool so that’s what you see here. I like how this all turned out and it is especially MUCH better than my original 2010 version.
Technical Notes

I rendered this scene using Poser 12 Superfly. I updated every material shader in the scene with new and improved Superfly shaders. I actually rendered this scene twice, once with a dynamic shirt that only looked good on his arm and a conforming shirt which looked good everywhere except his arm. I then combined the two renders in Photoshop. Also, in Photoshop, I used a fur brush to add some detail to his Rasta hair locks and beard. I lightly used a single Photoshop action to give it all an orangish hue and a slightly aged look.
