She is trapped in a prison of her own creation. She could escape as she has the key, yet she remains confined for reasons unknown even to her.

I haven’t been feeling well lately, mentally. I had to force myself to get out of bed to do something and what I ended up doing is this artwork. It’s a final redux of an artwork I first created in 2009. This new version is a total revision of the concept with a brand-new scene built from the ground up. I like this version much better than the old as it’s more realistic while still conveying the same emotions and concept as the original.
