Satine Kryze

(Royal Gown)

Yet another character yet to be seen in live action so I had to go on was how she looks in the Clone Wars TV series. Actually, I did have one small advantage to making her look like a realistic version of the character. In the behind-the-scenes talk, I found out that they based Satine’s face on the actress Cate Blanchet. So, I mostly sculpted a likeness of Cate Blanchet and then tweaked it as needed to look a touch more like the cartoon version where needed. I originally created this gown for Padme to wear but I didn’t think she looked right in it. So, I switched it on over to Satine and added some more “royal” accessories. It still looked a little too “medieval generic” so changed the color palette and added some Mandalorian and Clan Kryze motifs. 

I have fixed the edging/trim on her dress which looked like it was floating before. (Apparently, I had inverted the transparency map!) I added some more motifs, this time to her sleeves. Her eyes were too dark before as well, so I made them a lighter blue. I decided she needed some purple in her outfit so at first, I changed her overskirt from teal to purple but that didn’t look right to me. So, I instead made the crystals on all of her jewelry pieces purple. I do believe she is now complete.
