On the Prowl

The majestic tiger is on the prowl through the mossy bamboo forest, and it looks like he has caught sight of his photographer.

Notes

After I finished Lingering, I needed to do something that was… not emotionally related. So, I went through my “notebook of ideas” and the idea sketch for this popped out, so I created it. I like it. I also saw it as an image that would be a perfect opportunity to use my newest toy, Lightroom. I was right and the artwork is soooo much better for it. It really “pops” now.
Technical Notes

This was rendered in Poser 12 Superfly with one spotlight to project the main light and shadows and then a global IDL light of brownish green to illuminate the entire scene and give it more AO. I also rendered it with depth of field to give the scene more depth and realism. Postwork was fun with this one as I got to use something that is brand new to me. In Photoshop I used two Photoshop actions to play around with the colors and then fixed an issue with the tiger’s mane using hair brushes. Next, I took the image into my new toy/tool, Lightroom! It was in Lightroom that all the magic happened, and I turned a rather flat looking image into what you see here. I love it! I wish I had got Lightroom ages ago! Oh well, it’s now an essential part of my toolkit. After that, I took the image back into Photoshop to enhance the vignette effect and add my logo and watermark.
