I wanted to create a new artwork today and decided to make one of the Star Wars fan art ideas that I had previously sketched out in my “Notebook of Ideas”. This seemed like it would be a fun one, and easy. It was fun to create, but I was wrong about the “easy” part. It took me a long while to figure out how exactly I wanted to do the speeder motion blur. I ended up not using a motion blur, but a “radial zoom blur” and I think it looks good this way.
Technical Notes

I rendered this scene in Poser 13 with depth of field effects and lighting from an HDRI. The “motion” effect was done in Photoshop with the Radial Blur tool set to Zoom mode then adjusted until it looked “just right”. I enhanced the colors and contrast a bit with a few adjustment layers and added a thin border. Finally, I added my logo and the piece is done.
