It’s currently very cold outside. Like freezing cold. So, I decided to create something warm, and this is what I came up with. A warm fire, warm blanket, warm colors, and a cup of hot cocoa. I’m not entirely sure why I have her wearing shorts. Maybe because I’m an idiot who also wears shorts indoors when it’s cold? Regardless, I’m pleased with how this scene turned out.
Technical Notes

I’ve been experimenting lately with using emission shaders on props as my only light sources. In the case of this scene, the main light source is the fire in the fireplace along with some additional emissive lights on the candles’ flames on the mantle. I updated every shader of this scene to something that looked better/best in Superfly. Her shirt is dynamic cloth, but the blanket is a molded prop. I added slight additional glow effects on the fire and candle flames in postwork. I also added some steam to her mug in postwork. I did very little else except use ON1’s No Noise to take the noise out of the original render.
