A cecaelia lurks just beneath the waves wondering what lay beyond and perhaps waiting for yet another helpless victim.

I originally created an artwork with this idea of a half-woman, half-cephalopod back in 2014 and then the other day I got an idea on how I could improve it, so I did! The scene is a mixture of raw render with two separate figures combined with tricky posing plus a generous amount of postwork to create the final scene. The original 2014 version was just the cecaelia figure alone in dark water. For this 2020 version, I added the water surface effects and changed the pose plus I rendered it in Superfly unlike the original. For more info, check the Tech Notes.
