Notes

This is my third, and probably final, entry to this year’s Renderosity Swimsuit Contest. This one took a lot of work to get the water and lighting just right. I think I made like 40+ test renders until I got the water looking right. I had a vision in my head of what I wanted this to be, and I wasn’t going to give up until I achieved it!
Technical Notes

I rendered this scene in Poser 13 with Superfly. I used a sunset styled HDRI to illuminate the scene, but it didn’t look good enough on its own as a sky. So, I added a sky dome then disabled the sky dome’s ability to be seen in raytracing and made it semi-transparent. This allowed it to blend with the HDRI environment dome and create both the sky and lighting as you see it. I think I added a “sun” point light to add a little more depth to the scene with highlights and shadows. I used my own Superfly shader on the ocean water prop and blended it in better to the beach prop using Poser 13’s morph tools. In postwork, I used the Heal brush to blend the two props even more. I also added a touch of sand to the two figures’ feet in postwork. Finally, I took the render into Lightroom and enhanced it as best I could.
