I have an official “The Force Awakens” poster in my bedroom as part of my pop culture poster collection in there. I’ve been wanting to create my own version of it for some time now. Well, I finally did it! I did make some changes though. The poster has Rey mostly in shadow and shows X-Wings in the sky above her for some reason. I think the Falcon and some TIEs makes a little more sense. What do you think of her footprints in the sand? I guess I could have done that in the render with some precise use of the morph tools but instead I just painted that effect in postwork along with adding some sand particles to her boots and BB-8’s lower body. I had trouble with posing her skirt pieces in my earlier versions of this artwork. Thank you, Verica, for helping me make it better for this final version.
Technical Notes

The scene was rendered with Superfly in Poser 13 with an HDRI environment image for lighting. Like I did in my previous artwork, Sunset Beach, I added a skydome from Flinks Dramatic Skies then changed its setting a bit including transparency so I could add more clouds to the HDRI without changing the HDRI lighting effects. The laser fire from the TIE Fighters were not added in postwork but were instead rendered props within the scene. The depth of field effect was also rendered within Poser 13. As I mentioned in the main notes section, I added sand particles to Rey’s boots and the bottom of BB-8 in postwork using a sand brush and layer effect from Rons Sand. I created Rey’s footprints in the sand with a plain soft brush in a medium gray color that I circled her feet with. I used the smudge brush to fit the brush strokes even closer to her feet. I then created a beveled layer style to create the look of indentations in the sand.
