Notes
I know the “reason” the Stormtroopers are so inept is because they were “ordered to let them escape so they could find the Rebel Base”… but they’re still fairly stupid. I mean, no “good” reason is given for why they don’t shoot the empty escape pod at the beginning of A New Hope. Are they being charged by the blaster shot or something?? Granted, there would have been no movie, but they could have done better to explain it away and quick at that. Maybe say there was a malfunction with the firing mechanism? Regardless, Imperials are stupid. Those ARE the droids you were looking for!!
UPDATE: I completely recreated this artwork in 2025 (I created the original in 2024). I overhauled the materials of, well, everything and added in some more details like the mouse droid and the comlink. C-3PO’s materials were the most difficult to get to where I liked them enough to publish.
